SADE STREHLKE is the former editor in chief of Popsugar — one of the largest online magazines for millennial and Gen Z women by reach and audience — and an editorial and marketing leader with over a decade of experience at leading fashion and lifestyle publications.

Born and raised in The Bronx, she attended Trinity School on New York’s Upper West Side and is a theatre graduate of the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. She also holds a M.S. from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. Upon graduating from the latter in 2014, she accepted a position at WSJ., The Wall Street Journal’s fashion and culture magazine. There, she wrote popular profiles of Anthony Bourdain and Misty Copeland. When the opportunity arose to spearhead Teen Vogue’s culture and politics coverage, she leapt at the chance and worked under Amy Astley and Anna Wintour’s team as the magazine’s features editor. At Teen Vogue, she was responsible for ushering in a new chapter for the publication, overseeing multi-platform features with everyone from Hillary Clinton to Simone Biles and Gloria Steinem — and grew her vertical’s traffic by over 400% in less than a year. Next, she joined TIME magazine to lead their Motto vertical for millennial women and worked on some of the brand’s most influential projects at the time, including special reports on the opioid epidemic and female leadership, and interviewing everyone from Elizabeth Warren to Scarlett Johansson. She then joined Refinery29 as their health & wellness director and also served as the digital director for SHAPE magazine.

As editor in chief of Popsugar, she oversaw a team of 100 employees across multiple departments, from editorial to social media, e-commerce, art, sales, advertising and marketing. Tasked with reimagining the title’s focus and scope, she utilized her expertise to bring new and exciting editorial packages and coverage on all platforms, as well as physical products to retail stores, such as Target and Walmart, which all resonated with Gen Z and millennial audiences.

Throughout Sade’s experiences, she aims to champion diverse experiences, solve problems, report on interesting people and lift up women everywhere. She’s now embarking on the next chapter of her career, exploring new ways to continue sharing engaging, fun and important narratives.

An only child with a vivid imagination, she’s always on the hunt for the next great story.
